Tanit Phoenix, born 24 September 1984 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal is a South African Supermodel and an international Actress.

Model career

 
Phoenix started her career at the age of 15 and has starred in (and is the face of) commercials for American Swiss Jewellery, Nivea, Alberto VO5, Multi-billion dollar Aria (Casino) (Las Vegas), Transitions Lenses, Volvic and Veet. She worked as an International fashion model for Munich Models, Why Not Model Agency - Milan, Model Management - Hamburg, Ice Model Management - Cape Town and Success Models - Paris.

In September 2005, 2006 and now in 2010, she was the cover girl of Cosmopolitan magazine. Tanit made quite a name for herself as a daredevil after she starred in the European TV ad for Fa showergel, skydiving topless from the heavens. She was then chosen to be the cover girl in the German mens magazine Maxim and then the cover girl for American Maxim the year after. Tanit has also been on the covers of mens magazines FHM and GQ and has been frequently been shot for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Marie Claire, and Shape.



Movie career



Tanit Phoenix began her acting career as Candy in Lord of War opposite Nicolas Cage and Jared Leto , and had her second role the Canadian mystery series Charlie Jade as Malachi's associate in the episode "Things Unseen", then the following year starred opposite Wesley Snipes in the horror film Gallowwalker. In 2010, she starred in the horror film Lost Boys: The Thirst and the action film Death Race: Frankenstein Lives opposite Sean Bean, Ving Rhames and Danny Trejo. Tanit has just completed filming the comedy Spud opposite John Cleese in South Africa. Tanit has landed the lead in HBO's new anthology TV series, Femme Fatales, where she plays the mysterious host, Lilith.

Personal life When her work schedule allows, Tanit travels to third world countries where she lives with local tribes people in the jungle working with wild animals. Tanit Phoenix is very passionate about animals, and has become known as an animal activist. Her family farm organic medicinal plants. Tanit supports the South African Guide-Dogs Association, Save the Elephant Foundation & Touch a Monkey's Heart foundation.

Tanit means Goddess of Love in Phoenician. Recent discovery on Tanit Phoenix's family history: The family name, Phoenix, dates back to the early 1800s, where they originated from Ireland, Tullylish. She is also descendant from a Mediterranean and Dutch blood line.


It's well known that Tanit Phoenix has pursued academic studies in the science of Anthropology, Metaphysics, Quantum Physics, Quantum Mechanics, the Quantum Mind, the science of Imagery and World Religion over the past several years in between her busy work schedule. A vivacious, vibrant, tenacious woman when it comes to her work, and an independent free thinker when it comes to her studies; Tanit's passion for natural herbal medicines and self-sustainable living signified a depth of character to the press that made her hard to pigeon hole. All this along with her Hypnotherapy and Guided meditation degree and being a qualified Reiki practitioner, has given her an intellectual depth that adds to her striking looks.


Phoenix also immersed herself in numerous extracurricular activities. She is an avid guitar player. A frequent visitor to Thailand, she mastered the art of fire spinning and trained in the explosive art of Muay Thai boxing. She is a dancer, her mother enrolled her in Ballet from the age of 5, where she excelled at dancing for 10 years. Her many talents, combined with a daredevil sense of adventure can be attributed to her rise to success beyond that of merely being an extraordinarily striking beauty.

"Saat Ibu Memasak Di Dapur"

Setelah makan malam bersama keluarga, seorang ibu dan kedua putrinya bersama-sama mencuci piring di dapur. Sementara sang ayah dan putranya asyik menonton televisi di ruang keluarga.  Tiba-tiba terdengar suara piring pecah dari arah dapur. Sang putra langsung menatap ke ayahnya dan berkata “Pasti yang memecahkan piring itu ibu ya pak?”. PEMBANTU LUGU

Ini cerita dari seorang teman yang bertahun silam pergi ke Papua New Guinea untuk urusan bisnis. Ia ditemani oleh dua orang temannya dan tinggal di sebuah rumah di pedalaman. Rumah ini dirawat oleh seorang lokal, yang tugasnya hanya dua yakni merawat rumah dan memasak. Semuanya oke-oke saja, kecuali satu hal: mereka punya satu botol anggur yang mahal yang disimpan di ruang makan, yang setiap harinya sepertinya terus berkurang padahal mereka tidak pernah meminumnya. Anggur ini mahal dan mereka ingin menyimpannya untuk acara spesial. Yang mereka temukan adalah setiap hari jumlahnya sedikit demi sedikit berkurang. Mereka pun memutuskan untuk mengukur kekurangannya dengan membuat garis kecil pada botol, sehingga apabila memang berkurang lagi mereka bisa tahu dengan jelas. Dan setelah membuat garis tersebut, mereka menemukan memang jumlah anggur dalam botol tersebut berkurang terus setiap hari, walau sedikit demi sedikit.
